Had a very bad meet tonight has anyone had one and ran a mile like ann did tonight and how do we get rid of the creeps,the dirty smelly,unclean guys who spoil it for the good guys xx

I almost always meet socially in a pub first. Then if I like take them back or go to theirs but if not I will say no thanks and if asked give my reasons.

You thought he was ok enough to meet him but it was'nt as good as you intended it to be

Are you saying that you will only rely on what other people have said about someone before you decide to meet them? use your own instinct,no-one will ever show a bad verification on a profile anyway

Its no-ones fault that you did'nt get along,its just one of those things that can happen

I do expect people we meet to be be clean and respect themselves but this one was aweful, and creepy wouldn't want a single woman to walk into that enviroment

Hate to be so blunt, but serve you right - sorry We would never EVER meet ANYONE who has not got at least one veri-by-meeting. If you still wanted to meet this guy cos everything else looked good, then like others have said, you should have met somewhere neutral for a drink first on the STRICT understanding that you had the right of veto if not happy in any way.

Once again - sorry to be so direct about this....

I don't think a veri would have necessarily saved you.

One persons creepy is another persons normal.

Also I don't believe a veri is a guarantee of cleanliness.

Put it down to experience and move on

Most people live somewhere near a pub, so a swift lemonade can give the opportunity to asses the attraction and compatibility.

Like a lot of single females I insist on a coffee meet (as a single I prefer to meet without alcohol being on offer). Anyone not willing to do so gets my best wishes and a goodbye.

I have rarely met people with poor hygiene, but I do turn down around 50% of meets on the basis of insufficient lust. But if they are pleasant, have good hygiene and a good attitude and turned up where and when they said then I verify - just cos I don't fancy them doesn't mean the next woman won't.

But it is far easier to make my escape from a public place than from someones house. And yes, I have been there and done that!

The first time we ever met anyone from a site about 4 years ago it ended up with us escaping from their house in hysterical laughter and that was after a drink in a pub first,we drove off in a cloud of smoke thinking wtf happened there?

We have leanrt lots since

No matter how many checks you put in place or how many verifications tell you that the person is the best meet in the world,that is no guarantee that its going to be a good meet for you

The verification, or lack of, would not worry me as everybody has to start somewhere. If there were no veris I would just talk on the phone a few times to get a "feel" for the person prior to meeting.

I will meet unverified guys, but I expect recent face pics and that they either already have or are happy to verify them and that the first meet is over coffee in a public place.

I want to be reasonably certain that I will be able to recognise who I am meeting. And I will verify. We all have to start somewhere.

True, but it's a learning curve and you have to find what you're comfortable with. When I was on another site a couple of years back as a single guy there was NO verification system at all, so it was a level playing field. Sometimes wonder if the verification facility is actually worth having.

Each case is different I guess - sometimes you get a funny vibe about people after a couple of email exchanges and then if you pursue they turn out really nice, just bad choice of words in teh email perhaps. Other times you think they are great and they turn out to be somewhat different when you meet. Anything is possible in the scene... but also in the vanilla world. I am quite good with my instinct usually.

I don't personally pay much attention to them.

I've met a few single guys who werent verified and no horror stories.

In 4 years I have only ever encountered 2 timewasters (arranged and confirmed the meet and didnt turn up) both of those were well verified on Fab....

I appreciate all your comments and take them all on board as a cpl I feel the safety and security of a woman going to meet a guy is imperitive and we will probably have other bad meets but we enjoy going out to meet new people and it won't put us off but be more careful in the future.

That is a horrible experience for the woman and arguably for you. Anybody who appears to be playing under duresse .. its plain wrong and also a turn off.

Moodycow. You habe just made a very good point. I feel, that I will never find anyone from here as i am only phot verified. Know one seems to trust single guys.

I consider myself a nice guy and always find partners or couples when i visit the friendlier clubs. Incidentally you do npt come across as a moody cow x
