Loved them before we knew about the risks involved. I know I sound boring here but it also ages the skin and I cant afford that at my stage in life

I have no feelings of any sort for a tanning booth or sunbed. The medical advice it that they age your skin though and I dont see any reason for disbelieving it.

Central

Haven't used in ages, as have been scared from the health warnings, ageing and cancer issues. Have spray tans, but apparently the chemicals in those aren't always that healthy either.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Also havent used them for ages, not particularly because of the health risks but because last time I used one I came out of the booth to find that everyone had gone home, theyd closed the shop up and left me locked inside...

Dermatologists use them for treating some skin conditions such as chronic acne etc...usually in conjunction with anti biotics...so they cant be ALL bad. I have only ever used one once. But i tan very quickly so no real need. A trip over to Madrid usually tops me up and gives me a nice colour.

"Love them or hate them?"

Big debate in our local paper as skin cancer deaths have doubled in 5 years. talk of a task force cutting back sun bed salons and protecting young girls from the dangers. Ironically the doubling of the number of deaths co-incided with an increase in population and a mortality rate of just 0.02% of the population.

No talk yet of a task force stopping the sale of cigarettes, alcohol and fast food which are indirectly responsible for the vast majority of terminal illnesses.
