thinking about it... they only made a movive spin off of Man From Uncle at the time ... not been a big screen version of that since

Technology has advances with animatronics and cgi so it may well be different from the original.

Loved ALF as a kid.. so we just watched some youtube and its awfull

must admit than when i read the forum title i thought they were going to make a movie about "Alf Garnett"
