"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! You know it's unknown where it actually originated but Cornwall has the PDO ... its now all made just a few miles from me! Pasties are actually a world dish with most countries having their own take, apart from an actual cornish pasty lol

"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! It was invented at Tavistock Abbey 11th Century. Look it’s really not important to me but you are wrong. Admin can we close this thread, it’s making me unhappy

"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! Historians only found evidence of it being eaten there at that time according to the articles?

"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! Look Ivana (if that’s even your REAL name! Pah). I respect you, I think, from what I have read, that you are kind and intelligent, two traits I admire greatly in a person. But you are upsetting me with your false claims, cultural appropriation and blatant theft of a much lived Devonshire tradition. As such I feel we have reached a cross roads your path is marked “wrong” and my path “right”.

"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! Well it doesn't really matter, I've just read a couple of articles that disagree with you and Cornwall got the PDO and it is all made here now! All facts ... noone knows where scones originate and the cornish always ate it on splits which isn't denied! And thank you for your kind comments and I completely don't have any intention of upsetting you!

"Jam then cream is the proper way. Anything else just isn't right Unfortunately you have to drive through it (Devon) when leaving God's country!! Henry 8th said “if it’s raining anywhere in my kingdom, it’s raining in Tavistock”. Ironically, my office is in Truro and we’re things different I would be travelling down 3 days a week. Top scone tip: make with buttermilk

"If you get the proper really good clotted cream that is stiff with a yellow crust on the top from the high fat content like you should have it's very difficult to spread it over the jam. The jam is thinner and not as sticky and will spread over the cream. Other way around and the cream can slip off and end up in you're lap Hahahahahahahaha everywhere has it's own version of the pasty ... just not cornish pasties! But definitely wrong about the jam and cream ... always jam first as only need a smidge whereas cream after because half the pot! Yummy ...
