" I think if you seek advancement or have a long term goal/path within your chosen profession That’s a career. If you are static and can’t progress or don’t have a goal within what you do, that’s a job. | |||

" So, for sake of argument, a road sweeper who has no aspirations for road sweeping management but does the role for 20 years is just doing a job for 20 years? Even if they've had innavative ideas to change the role, made significant improvements etc? | |||

I think a job is something to pay the bills and just that, you do what’s available to put bread on the table. A career is something, perhaps, you wouldn’t want to leave, because you enjoy doing it or are emotionally invested in it, and/or have a clear path to higher achievement. Just thoughts. | |||
