Stayed in a certain Travelodge twice in the last three weeks. On both occasons have booked late check outs.

First morning they banged on the door and asked us to leave and this morning housekeeping actually walked in even tho there was a DND sign on the door.

Not a happy bunny

Some travelodge have wonderful staff, they learn your name, find out what they can do to help you have a wonderful time. Then others, where you're just a booking reference, not a person...

I get the feel they're the mcdonalds of the 'hotel' world. I've had some great and not so great stays. Some in central London have worked ok- once wonderful, others been appalling. Manchester wasn't great, but some effort made. Best yet has been in Cambs.

Not made a formal complaint, probably because I assume their 'support' is poor. Good luck!

Not being a hotel snob I used to use travelodges quite regularly!

Kinda stopped now as its such a pain that you need a key card to get in the door late - and even to go up in the lift!

Result? You have to go down 4 or 5 floors and hang around outside in the rain to let your 'company' in!

Oh for the good old days when you could just text them the room number and wait sprawled on the bed looking all seductive! Lol

Some of them, like in Manc, London centres are key access 24/7, not just at nights. Makes it a real pain to go down for meets, so when I'd like some pleasure, I don't normally stop at them.

Nope! Especially embarrassing if your meet has requested you to be coated in baby oil, wearing nothing but a sign and to be rock hard upon her arrival!!

Leicestershire

must admit last time Wolf and I stayed in a travelodge, we were going to erotica and stayed overnight, the room was crap, we booked a double room, expecting a double bed, and we got 2 singles pushed together so we couldn't snog, cuddle or anything in the middle, the only good thing was that the bathroom was a wet room, so good for more than just a shower, lol,

Devil

Currently staying at a Travelodge.

Some of them are better than the others for certain.

However, they are good budget hotels IMHO.

When i was working on site as a site secretary, we used to have alot of people staying in hotels and i had to do alot of bookings.

One hotel i would never have dealings with again is the travelodge, they are useless, half the bookings werent in their system on arrival, the rooms were always shit and the staff were repeatedly rude to my boys. (as i liked to call them lol) so i would never stay there again and never recommend anyone to stay there either.

It's worth checking out a travel advisor review site - some of them sound so awful that I wouldn't risk it. That said, I've stayed regularly in some where they're perfect for a budget place. Don't like paying their full prices, as often there are better hotels for the same money.

You get what you pay for. If ive ever stayed in one its been literally just somewhere to put my head down for the night and get a shower.

As you well know, I could simply just not concentrate in such an establishment - irregardless of how handy the heated towel rails are for light bondage routines !

Might I suggest you upgrade to a Radisson or a Marriott next time

Have stayed in some really nice ones, yes they are cheap and cheerful, but you cannot have luxury all the time

I like them, I've stayed in quite a few. Cheap and cheerful. I must have stayed in about 20 different ones and I'd say only 2 were grotty. I must just be lucky.

I hate the key card thing too. Means you can't get ready and waiting. Although we've found a way round it and it still works well.

I love turning up at 3pm and then leaving with a big smile on my face a few hours later.
