My doctor called me this morning to tell me I am officially in remission from type 2 Diabetes!

I know you're probably sick of me posting weight loss updates by now but I'm shouting it far and wide haha I've worked really hard for this result and I'm proud of myself

I've gotten some amazing support from a lot of people on here as well, and so wanted to share my bit of good news and let everyone who's been posting on my weight loss/exercise threads know that I'm still going

Post about this as often as you like Amber, you should be damned proud of yourself as its far from easy to stick to a strict diet regime and even harder to get yourself out of diabetes.

Well done you

Very well done op and here’s hoping you can stay normal for the rest of your life!!!

I’m the opposite as a month ago my new specialist told me I was type two after 25 years of being type one!!!!

Nothing has changed apart from one extra tablet but my levels are so much better apart from this morning as my pump fell off last night.

Stay healthy and eat that broccoli!!!!

How long did it take from diagnosis to remission?

I was diagnosed with diabetes just over 2 weeks ago and have totally changed my diet. Mine is that bad I'm on Metformin and insulin, which have brought my sugar levels from 23 down to 7.

U'm thinking in terms of years, not weeks, for any remission to happen for me, if at all.

I know you asked amber but i was diebetic for many years. When i decided to lose weight it took me 5stone which was about a year of dieting to go into remission. My partner is diabetic and has never been overweight in his life and eats healthly but his is old age diebitis

Yeah it took me about a year and 5 stone too. I took metformin on and off but never for long because I couldn't get past the side effects (even with the slow release version)

Don't panic, just make small changes over time and you'll kick its ass
