Can a GREAT photo of a person be RUINED by the background?

example - dirty rooms, cheap hotel room with LOUD blankets, yes the SOCKS lol, trash around the room, litter of bottles and glasses everywhere, crumbs on the floor, mattresses on floors, GB photo and only ONE man is touching the woman and 4 STANDING there..... Just the little details that people DON'T pay attention to

My profile pic was taken just as I was going out and not posed for. Love the picture but the fact that there are other shoes on the floor still niggles. Some pictures when there is just mess everywhere amuse me - seriously make an effort people!

Photos are always a give away, easy to spot the fake as well. Foreign plug sockets are a dead give away! Yes the ones with toys or a mess in the back ground do put me off as well.

Photoshop! Anyone that's seen my pics will know I use it regularly!

Not for adjusting things that shouldn't be - just 'tidying up' - blurring backgrounds, removing that annoying item you forgot to move out of the way - that kind of thing!

Those shoes would take me about 15 minutes to hide and you'd never know they were ever there!

Cant do a lot for unflushed loos - apart from black em out!

Don't be too sure on the baby gates tho !

I have a baby gate which I use to keep the dog out of the room if I don't want mithering.

Doesn't work though, he just sits there looking thru it, all sad and forlorn, like an poster boy for The Dogs Trust, until I give in !

Of course, if these people are 'accommodate only', you can be sure their guest lists will be lower in number.

Some of it just smacks of carelessness, I'm assuming that the greater masses of Fab are not so filthy, messy etc.

Not mentioned, I think, is the over popular photo of cock by toilet. Why take a pic of your loo, when there are more stylish places, I'd prefer to see prisoner's clothing or something - almost.

I still haven't managed to get any decorating/home furnishing tips yet, so any Ideal Home candidates don't appear to be too evident here.

That said, there are people who collect the garish profile photos, for other's enjoyment, so forget Sydney Uni inspecting your profile!

I like photography and particulary the part of choosing an angle, the lighting etc. It really grips me how some people's otherwise fabulous pictures are kind of ruined a bit by a negligent background.

Sometimes pictures can give a negative impression but as many are years old and others end up having been taken at someone else's home I tend to keep an open mind. However if I cam with someone and the background looks like Gaza its a different matter.
