. I am 53 and in North London. The last year due to lockdown like a lot of people I have had time to think and reflect and at 53 I have felt old. However all been well and we come out of lockdown in June I intend to be how I was before Covid19.I will attend London socials , OP4F and Rios and I even organised a FWB who is half hour drive away so lots to look forward too and even though I will still be 53 I wouldn’t feel old.

Out shopping you felt like you got treated differently from who? From when?

Could it be that in shops people ARE treating all people differently due to the pandemic and how we now interact so it wasn't personal in the slightest, just a change of the world we now live in.

39 isn't old at all I just think people's behaviour has changed due to the pandemic and are a lot more cautious of who they interact with xx

Ever heard the saying: I was the future once...

Unfortunately, it’s simply the nature of life. Focus on the good stuff rather than anything negative is my advice. At 39 you have both experience and plenty of good times ahead if you seize opportunities.

I don't think we get overconfident as we get older.

I think some people are just naturally aresholes who don't know how to behave appropriately and considerately.

I also think some people will be having a bad day. That person you just complained about for having a bad attitude (not you personally, you as in the collective) may have had the news broken to them whilst on a toilet break that they've just lost a loved one and are desperately trying to make it through their shift without losing control as they won't afford their rent if they leave early.

This is the second time you have bad mouthed London.

If you don't like it or the people then maybe you should consider moving somewhere where you think you'll be better received.

Look closer

Now can you see it?

That's right - its a tiny violin and I'm playing it for you.

You've come her for sympathy and you've then gone to make a racist statement

Maybe where you're originally from - Iran is it? - you refer to the white eyes but here that doesn't sit well.

You do get treated differently as you get older people become more respectful in some cases but often they begin to patronise you. I've found that some people great me as if I'm incapable. We test drove a fairly high powered car recently, when we got it back to the showroom the salesman was surprised to discover I'd driven it and said "well done!" as if he was talking to a child who'd just learned to ride a bike

I think 39 is young in the grand scheme of things though op.
