RIP Jim Steinman

I've just heard on the radio that the Fabulous Jim Steinman has died.

He was one of my favourite song writers and is responsible for some of the greatest songs written. The incredible Bat Out Of Hell album will always be a regular on my play-list as will Bonny Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

His own album he released wasn't to bad either, think it was called "Bad for Good". Very similar to Bat out of hell and the Bonny Tyler album but that was his style- unique

I have just read this online. Bat out of hell used to be my go to driving album in the car. So so talented!

Awww bless him Bat Out of Hell is one of my all time fave albums, every song is a total banger, the first time I heard it I was hooked completely.

I have three film posters on my front room wall.

Jaws

The Warriors and

Streets of Fire

The soundtrack to streets of fire is amazing Ry Cooder, Jimmy lovine and Jim Steinman. The main reason I absolutely love the film and proudly display the poster.

Nowhere Fast and Tonight is what it means to be Young are two cracking songs that start and end the film.

RIP Jim, thanks for the songs.

I will second that. His work with The Sisters OF Mercy is beyond iconic. As in Bat Out Of Hell of course. Meat Loaf was my 1st gig when I was 15.

PS - Avoid Meat Loaf's massacring of the Sister's Steinman classic 'More' though at ALL costs!

Dominion/ Mother Russia and This Corrosion (I even remember the video) are the two songs I knew of theirs.
