Any fellow marathon runners here?

Are you running this year now races have started again? Where are you racing?

I'm aiming for a half marathon by wheelchair if I can. Marathon might be pushing it to start with...

I was supposed to be doing one in September local, but an accident has ruptured my ACL so no running for me. Gutted as I love being outdoors

I have done and want to/will do again.

I can’t seem to shake these niggling injuries though

Slow return to training, eat well and hydrate well will be a big help to the injuries.

Yeah, I’m having trouble just getting to the training part

I’m thinking of running Y3P again towards the end of summer , it’s the distance of a marathon but much more interesting and 5-6 hours, for me anyway

I've decided to ignore my impinged shoulder. The medics couldn't care less so I just push through the pain. I can't stop using the wheelchair day to day anyway so meh. Injury, schmingery

Injury is a big problem as you get older

My goal for the last few years has simply been stay injury free rather than push for PBs

Yeah, that’s a good plan. I don’t care about PB’s, certainly not at the moment. Just getting running again in any capacity is the aim

Was scheduled to do a 1/2 marathon this year but it was cancelled. I’ll try and do some 10ks and the Park Run when it’s back up.

No chance I ever run a full marathon unless there is cake, or boobs, every mile on the mile

I have a half marathon booked in for the end of May then Race to the Kings in June which is 53 miles over 2 days. That one is making me slightly nervous as so far a half is the furthest I've ran

The ‘race to...’ ones look awesome!

Look after your feet but in my understanding (I know a few people that did the stones) they’re a different and less intensive experience as the time involved makes it possible to Jeff your way around. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an ultra but you’re not required to hit certain times, unlike a marathon where there are sweeper busses.

A great race was going to enter this year but I’ll be running Chicago in October

Yeah but the ultras stop being a big race and become more about the massive personal achievement and they are super sociable you’ll do great
