Walked through the park around 7am and the birdsong was spectacular.

What a lovely time of year

Isn't it gorgeous? I thought it would never get here, but sunshine is inevitable too.

Definitely my favourite time of year, I love the sound of birdsong and the whole atmosphere of an early morning walk.

My nan’s spare room.

They are very busy those birds.

I love watching them. My dogs have a fur like undercoat and I saved some put it out in the garden, it felt great seeing the birds filling their bills with it to line their nests.

I like it when the goldfinches appear in my garden and started their songs before landing on the feeders.

We have robins nesting in our huge clematis and they provide a daily treat with their wonderful song throughout the day. Unusually we have no resident blackbirds this year so we're missing the evenings when the male would sit up on the roof and sing away to his heart's content. Magpies raided their nest last year and took all the chicks so maybe that has something to do with it.

Out n About

The Blackbirds are unusally very thin on the ground around my area this year. There is however plenty of Robins, Goldfinches, Great Tits and Long Tail Tits providing the music. Magpies and Jackdoors also seem to have moved into the neighborhood recently.

Love listening to all the different birds singing their songs but when the geese decide to join in at stupid o’clock, not so pleasant

I'm currently listening to the blackbird sitting at the top of my tree, and the wrens chittering away.

Sparrows must be sleeping.

When you get the chance to find somewhere away from people in the countryside, just sit quietly and close your eyes for a while. After a few minutes you will be amazed at the wildlife sounds you hear once your eyes have lost priority over your other senses. Even more interesting at night...

When our eldest was very young he used to make a weird repetitive noise every so often and we could not work out what it was or why they were doung it for ages. Then it dawned on us. We've always had a 'resident' pair of woodpigeons (not the same ones obviosuly) and one or other always used to sit on the roof cooing early in the morning and that was the noise he was making.

Heard a cuckoo this evening. To think it has flown all the way from Africa to stay here for just a few weeks. Amazing

We have a pair nesting next door now they did last year too not sure how successful they were or will be but they seem quite unperturbed by human activity stunning little birds and exquisite nest builders.
