Not the tie me up and spank me kind,

The muscle ache of death a few days after working out kind.

Any tips on remedies apart from crying.

Epsom salt bath should help, especially if you have lavender too.

Light exercise also, some gentle stretching after a walk?

Depends on how far you are into your training .. if your relatively new then go easy on yourself Working out .. as you progress you should be feeling Doms after good training which you can use as marker for progress which is also managable.
