Sounds like the title of a film!

Day 1. Nephew called me to play football with him.

Great time.

Practised a few new things with him and even for myself.

Gave me a feel of the football again.

Also exercise prior to match.

Day 2. Mentally personally well prepared for match.

Not certain if I would be playing in goal or outfield.

Bit of prior uncertainty due to team communication.

Day 3.

Match day.

First half in goal.

4-0 down!

Didn't feel any of the goals were my fault (no obvious errors.

A few others didn't think so!

Also handled the ball well, prevented a few attempts and distributed well.

2nd half.

Change of goalie...

I was now an outfield sub.

Came on 10 mins into second half.

Scored our first goal (a deft spinning chip)

Game ended up 8-3 loss

Comment after the game by the teammate I replaced.

"You have quick feet you should be in the team".

Now the only reason I write this is that I cannot recall 3 continuous days in my life with so many as if mapped out things.

My nephew calling me out of the blue for football.

2 days before a match not having played since we last could.

Me ending up in goal.

Barracked a bit for goals that no other teammate took responsibility for.

Opening the scoring for our team and believe me we played far better second half...I secretly know what I did to help that!

Gaining increased respect.

This was my second outfield game for that team played great in both.

But I do notice there is a particular guy who likes to wind me up (the player-manager) and he plays in my position in midfield.

So I will keep seeking to perform well and let my feet do the talking.

It was all SOOOO sweet!

Here's the clincher we ended up playing the game on the playing fields that belong to my nephews present school!

Have you ever had a series of days filled with strange coincidences?

"Have you ever had a series of days filled with strange coincidences?"
Also on the way to the match near enough but not quite to the playing fields.

After enquiries for directions.

I was directed onto a downstairs wooded pathway.

Just as I got to the bottom with my cycle a teammate rode by Satnav and all.

The teammate I usually travel to games with.

"You need to have a word with Craig David. Why?"

He wrote a compelling account of seven days.
