Messaging others is just plain rude

Checking phone, and I mean just checking I'm cool with as you don't know what commitments they have etc etc so they might need to check in

Also, nothing wrong with someone arranging safe calls etc

I've had this before. I think my face did this. And they messaged a good friend of mine.

It's only happened once before but it did make me think fuck I must be boring and view the person in a slightly different light. Before that I'd been caught in their dicksand.

agree with this - if you're not enjoying the company of the person / people you're with enough to keep off your phone, then there probably isn't any point going any further!

even the lads I'm mates with rip into someone if they're on their phone on a night out!

There are only a few acceptable reasons in my opinion for getting your phone out while meeting, including

Safety calls/checks

Responding to children/family

Wanting to show me something

Using it to message others on fab in front of me would not be something I would find acceptable.

It’s rude. It’s happened to me with a Fab meet at a restaurant and whilst waiting for our food he got his phone and had a WhatsApp group chat with work colleagues.

I should have left there and then but we’d ordered and I was hungry but I did tell him I thought it rude and he said I was over reacting

I have often sat on a social and chatted about Fab. I ask about their experience and what type of messages they get etc.

I have done the same after sex on a meet. In these contexts I think its fine to break out your phone and talk about it. If they answer a message then that is fine too.

Would I want them to wait till I go to the loo or home to do it ?

Of course not.

We are adults. We are not here to be exclusive and as a guy, I have to accept that whoever I am talking to is a lady and therefore popular.

If she did it without this, then I hope I would be able to take the hint and leave.

I obviously wasn't what she was looking for. Bit of a kick in the ego, but nothing that kills you.

If it's a weekend with someone I've seen many times before, it's fine. We can't be glued together the whole time, and everyday life can intrude.

If it's someone new and we're not even spending the night together, it'd be a good sign that there won't be another meet. I've been lucky enough not to have experienced that yet.

If it's "I know the kids are fine with the babysitter but I want to check in on them anyway", go right ahead. Get that worry off your mind.

If someone I met went on fab to chat to others durning a meet with me then the meet would end there and then. The only reason someone would do that is if they had decided they weren't that into you.

i think browsing for new meets and chatting your way through your inbox would be rude

but when i used to meet i have often lay in bed between rounds while we both looked at local updates, the forums, hot pics - pointed out profiles we liked to each other with the intention of maybe messaging for a group meet , i used to go on chat with meets while having a few drinks during the warm up too

i think it very much depends on the dynamic of the meet and the intention of the scrolling / inclusion of the other person
