Daydream believer ?

Are you a dreamer or a pragmatist ?

Head in the clouds or feet on the ground ?

Are fantasies and daydreams essential to get through the daily routine or is it better to be a realist in all things ?

A bit of both. If I find myself floating away too much I have to force myself back down.

A little of both, though I work to try and make some dreams come true

Scunthorpe

I would say that I am a positive realist...if that makes sense.

"A bit of both. If I find myself floating away too much I have to force myself back down."

I think I'm similar, balance in all things?

"A little of both, though I work to try and make some dreams come true"

Yes, some dreams and fantasies are achievable so going for them can also be realistic.

It does. Realism or pragmatism is completely different from pessimism.

I'm a bit of both, tend to find ways to keep myself grounded when head is in clouds.

I'm mainly pragmatic...but who doesn't have the odd daydream about what they'd do if they won the lottery?

I do have those. I guess I'd better start playing the lottery then.

Sometimes life is better with my head in the clouds, though experience has taught me to keep my feet firmer on the ground and keep it real!

A balance of both is perfect I say...

I remember April

When the sun was in the sky

And love was burning in your eyes

Nothing in the world could bother me

'Cause I was living in a world of ecstasy

But now you're gone I'm just a daydreamer

I'm walking in the rain

Chasing after rainbows I may never find again

Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone

Oh how much I need someone to call my very own

Now the summer's over

And I find myself alone

With only memories of you

I was so in love I couldn't see

'Cause I was living in a world of make believe

But now you're gone I'm just a daydreamer

I'm walking in the rain

Chasing after rainbows I may never find again

Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone

Oh how much I need someone to call my very own

I'm just a daydreamer

I'm walking in the rain

Chasing after rainbows I may never find again

Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone

Oh how much I need someone to call my very own

I'm just a....................

I think I started learning more towards pragmatist recently. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised with outcome of my efforts than spend time daydreaming too much these days. I'm sure it will fluctuate depending on life circumstances too.

Pragmatism to the point of bitterness at times.

A lot to do with my job and seeing the worst of humankind.

However, I am cheerful most of the time, if not positive. I am rarely disappointed by things as I always suspect a caveat, and usually things are better than anticipated.

Probably a built in protection against some major disaster as a child...who knows ?

Pragmatism can be painful when, as you say, it means accepting some painful realities. But accepting the whole truth can also be a first step towards a positive future.

I guess we'd have to define 'daydreams' ? Positive, achievable goals may start out in the imagination but putting them into practice requires a more pragmatic approach.

No, I liked your interpretation - daydreams as a distraction? I think mine are a mix, escapist fantasies which need to be kept in their place but also 'dreams' which could inspire positive plans with some pragmatic tweaking.
