Do any of you fabulous people ever experience phantom tastes?

Like say you're eating plain ordinary milk chocolate then out of nowhere you taste raisins in the chocolate even though there's none in the chocolate...

Just a weird oddity that happens out of the blue every so often...

Very rarely but it has happened four or five times to me. I think it’s when one taste triggers my memory of something that is married to that taste.

I do. I was eating this gorgeous salad the other day. I love the taste of lettuce and tomatoes and all the other delicious ingredients. I was really enjoying the taste when all of a sudden I got the weirdest taste of caterpillar. Weird that, just don't get it.

Sometimes when I eat ready salted crisps I have to check the packet cause they taste like bacon. There’s no punchline to this amazing anecdote, it’s just something that happens now and again.

Heathrow / Berks

OP - I get sudden memories of taste that get triggered randomly and stays with me

I thought that’s what you meant. For me, it’s mostly harmless. Occasionally, it stays for hours and it’s torment. Like the taste of breast milk from an ANR relationship this morning. Been hot for nipples since
