Following as I love being in rope and equally wouldn't mind learning some of it too with a few people from fabs.

A work shop with fab friends is a very appealing idea we've had for a while.

MPR will be starting back up soon at Xtasia I believe.

Run by some good people.

There are a few peer rope groups around the country, as well as a few studios that do organised classes such as Studio Kokoro and Anatomie.

Good luck in your journey, rope can become very addictive.

Could I just say that an in person class, Would be best. The anatomy is very important to learn also, not only as a rope top but as a rope bottom also. Long term damage can be very quickly acquired if tied wrong. Peer classes are quite easily found. Sorry, just felt it important to add.

I wish I could be into this, it always looks so cool. But I reckon I'd get bored waiting for the guy to finish whatever fancy knot he's doing, and then end up looking like a roast pork which has swollen out of its thread in the oven

It’s amazing how many videos there are on YouTube that you can learn from

The key is simply to learn a handful of basics and then explore (carefully)

A big thing to remember is that it is not about the end result, the journey and experience of the rope is very important. The feel of the rope as it slides across the skin, the touching and sensuality as the knots are tied. Sadly may people rush the tying and miss the journey

Would love a rope bunny if anyone is interested?

There are many different styles in Japanese rope, I can name two styles based on famous riggers, Yukimaran which is more sex based. Semenawa which is more based on suffering. There is performance based rope. Western style which is rope solely for restraint, there is rope for pretty pictures.

Then it can depend on where you are in the UK. London and the home counties have quite few and there are less in other parts of the UK unless a peer rope is based in your town/City such as Birmingham and Nottingham.

Then factor in people's preference in look or gender of the person that ties them or a rigger likes to tie (there is a bizarre prejudice against curvier women) it becomes tricky.

Also are you looking for bedroom bondage, public play or a mix.

Finally, if you meet someone how do you know they are competent? Don't forget rope is dangerous and counts as edgeplay.

On the flipside I have been to peer ropes and parties where the riggers out numbered the rope bottoms 3 to 1.

Also spare a thought for male rope bottoms who want to be tied by women. They outnumber women riggers by a large factor.

These are the things that make having your desires met in kink really difficult.

We have been practicing shibari for 3 or so years now.

We have just successfully played out a scenario which included full suspension.

It was so amazing! Highly erotic for both top and bottom!

Seiko so loves the resulting rope kisses, and we both enjoyed the freedom and accessibility that a full suspension offers one when playing.

This has only increased our appetite for the ropes.

---I took one of my ropes to bed with me last night! (I was sleeping alone)

Look up kinbaku, it's a Japanese method and you see classes around. Loads of website show you how to tie people and which ropes are recommended etc. (you'll end up buying a few) --pt
