Have you ever gone to look at a profile and then find you've been blocked? You've never spoken, fabbed pics or winked nothing but you’re blocked. Do you find it strange or just move on?

I do find it strange, i know people can block who they like for what ever reason they like. Its just an observation really.

The right place

I occasionally block people that come up on my local updates without having spoken to them.

Especially if they repeatedly post images that make my stomach turn.

I changed my bio to

‘By messaging this account you are giving Sydney University absolute authority and ownership of your profile and it’s contents’

So so many people messaged ‘hi how are you’ then blocked straight away. Since I’ve changed it they’ve slowly been unblocking but it’s too late. I know they’re gullible.

That’s right guys. I see you.

You can use it as a second filter, so you don't see people who have made it clear they're not interested?

Maybe there's a local poster hogging the news feed with their constant updates and pictures, and you'd like to see other people.

Plus you know, you could of course use it for the intention it was designed.

Humans are great, we find a way. I salute you all.

Sometimes but then I figure that I’ve possibly posted something that has rubbed them up the wrong way or they have decided that they don’t want to have contact with me.

I know that I’m not for everyone and I’m opinionated and can be argumentative. It’s for the best if they feel that way.

I always go through all the posters on a block thread (or any thread) to see if they have blocked me. It’s like a little game I play with myself.

I block people based on their forum posts quite a lot. It's not personal, just that we're not compatible in some core way and I don't want us to appear on each others radar and waste time. Others I block because I think they're nobheads I don't want looking at my pics.

It's happened to us. We figure that they might have taken exception to something we've said in the chatroom, or they simply aren't interested for whatever reason and leave it at that. There's always a reason, but we aren't that bothered about finding out.

We were under the impression that blocking profiles has no effect within the forums - so the posts of those who have blocked and been blocked will still be visible to eachother.

I do know people in my local area whom I would prefer not to interact with. Not because of any reason other then I prefer to have contacts and friends away from where I live. I do know some parents from my daughters school are on here and to save any embarasment on either side.

I also block people who are rude and abusive, via e-mail or forums.

And people I get mixed ,essages from, one minute they like you the next they don't. I can't be bothered with it.

If people do block me, that is fine and I always think that if somehow we did meet in person then we might find out we actualy do enjoy each others company. The people I have as friends are the ones that I want to keep a connection to.

PLus if someone actualy doesn'tlike me based on sill forum post, I realy could not give an owl's hoot.
