will he have to self isolate for the required time??

If not, why not??

Not a dig, just a genuine question, had it been a "commoner" we would have to.

I believe it was said he will test after 5 days

Which if you pay for it you can do it and if its clean you don't need to isolate/quarantine anymore

he can take a 'test to release ' test after 5 days in quarantine, same as anyone else.

Which is obviously why he arrived on Sunday so he can be released in time for Saturday's funeral.

They are complying to the rule of 30 at the funeral, I can't see them diresgarding a covid test for someone attending.

"Unless they can't afford £120 ? they probably dont have to pay it "

They pay tax on their income, so maybe are allowed a free test like every other person in this country.

You have to pay for a PCR test on returning from abroad. You can't have a free NHS one

I was just responding to the implication that they would not have to pay because they were royal really, but yes, you are right. I was jumping to the royal defense at a time when they deserve some humanity in their grief

I read on an article that he will be exempt from the 10 days self isolation as these are special circumstances.I don’t think he’s back yet

Mourners coming from outside England

If you have travelled to England from any country that is not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate, you are required to self-isolate from arrival and for the first full 10 days after you arrive. However, you can leave your place of self-isolation in limited circumstances, including on compassionate grounds. This includes attending a funeral of a household member, a close family member or a friend (if neither household member or close family member can attend the funeral).

You must continue to self-isolate at all other times.

If you are arriving from a country that is not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate, you may be able to leave self-isolation at an earlier stage if you have participated in the Test to Release for International Travel Scheme.

Taken from the gov.uk corona virus guidance.

I really do wish people would stop trying to pick at him, especially over attending his grandads funeral.

How many 'commoners' would willingly break the law to attend a funeral? So if its OK for you to support your mate Bob going to a funeral even though he shouldn't then surely Harry is OK? Not that we know he is breaking any laws really.

He's back and complying with regulations.

I'm glad there are no pictures of him. The vultures would be circling ready to peck his eyes out.

Im not a Royalist - far from it. Hoever that doesn't mean Im blind to the fact that his Grandfather has died. He's only doing what most / many of us would do if we could.

I hope he can go to his Grandfathers funeral and I hope that he may be able to use it to begin to rebuild his relationship with family.

This must be a pretty shite time for him - huge public falling out with his family and his Grandfather dying. I wish him and his family the best at this time.
