Weird but random question for you folks...

When you wash the pots what order do you do them in, if you have an order that is? (surley everyone does)

I'm intrigued what order people do them in.

I do glasses, cutlery, plates then pans etc

No dishwasher cheats allowed

Her x

Somewhere In The Ether…

I’m a pots/pans first man.

Then plates and finally cutlery.

Cups and glasses I wash separately.

Butler... Oh the dream

To be honest, as much as I'd think I would like it I actually enjoy cleaning!

Ram as much as possible into the dishwasher, and then randomly do the rest

I like to do plates, dishes, glasses, cutlery then the big pots, pans or trays. I like to spend time on the big ones so I leave them until the end so I can dedicate my focus to them without distraction of the others needing attention!

Best way!

I think it would be gross doing it the other way round, imagine the pans first then glasses and cutlery they would be greasy!

Me too, one of my least favourite cleaning things to do.

Although cleaning the oven has got to be up there

Stockport

Used utensils stacked in the dishwasher as each is finished with during the food preparation.

When using the steamer, the base pan has only had boiling water in it (with tiny amounts of juices dripped from the steamed veg) so this is quickly rinsed in hot water as soon as the upper section with the food is lifted from it. Upper section goes in dishwasher when veg served onto plates.

If frying pan used, then as soon as food put on plates, hot water from tap and a drop of fairy into the pan, pan back onto the stove top. Waste heat from the ring cooling down softens any residue in the pan, also prevents fingers accidentally touching ring while still hot.

If grill pan is used, then is lined with tin foil that gets discarded afterwards, so that only grill rack gets greasy. Pan will only need quickest rinse in soapy water to remove any tiny fat spatters.

Surfaces wiped as going along.

As each course finished eating, plates and cutlery stacked in dishwasher. Cheap tumbler glasses used for fruit juice also go in dishwasher, wine glasses put by sink for washing later.

After dessert course, quick rinse of wine glasses and anything else delicate in sink while waiting for coffee machine to finish, then grill rack and/or fry pan in the soapy water. Two minutes tops.

After coffee, mugs into dishwasher, press button, done.

Do all the dirty things first, then glasses last, that way they’re left all nice and greasy.

Dishwasher

Rubber gloves get yer hands dirty and scrub those dishes.

Glasses and cups,

Lightly used plates or bowls,

Teatime plates that are a bit more messy,

Then pans, that I leave to soak.

I’ll listen to 5 Live whilst doing them and clean down working surfaces as well

I like to wear gloves so I can have the water as hot as it'll go and so no wet food touches my hand (yes I do rinse pots first) but still, the thought makes my skin crawl!

..

I would start with glasses, then crockery, cutlery and maybe pans if the water was clean and hot enough.

I do have a particularly wonderful relationship with my dish washer though so that would be my first choice
