All depends hiw im feeling about myself,

If I feel shit n view myself as worthless etc, then there hard to accept n find compliments really cringe...

If I'm good then I can accept them...I never think there a load of bull tho

I’m grateful for compliments on words but uncomfortable with anything about how I look. Many folk will say anything to get their foot in the door so I’m wary if that’s all they have to say.

I'm not sure. On the forum I'd politely acknowledge it depending on who from. In private messages, some are clearly untrue and designed to make my knickers slick. The ones I perceive to be genuine and/or from those I care about and/or on certain things, I'll accept gratefully and gracefully.

It's lovely to hear positive things about yourself.

I always compliment people who I feel deserve it, foot in the door or not as some may say, I just try to be myself and pass compliments on as I see fit, I don't expect anything or anything to come of it, just being truthful to all

I give them when I feel I want to, if others need a little reassurance or explanation of context I’ll try to give it. I recognise some people are wary or feel like it’s an indirect way to get something.

For instance, if someone is hundreds of miles away but I feel like I liked a picture I’d try to explain that it’s extremely likely we won’t meet so please just accept me wanting to share the love, so to speak. Same goes for a forum post, if I privately messaged someone off the back of a particular thread, I’d stick to that, not use it as a platform to get into someone’s private space.

I receive and accept them with manners and gratitude.

Sometimes I find them hard to accept deep down, but I always say thank you if I've opened the message and it's a compliment. It's all to do with how's confident I'm feeling in myself, I guess.

Depends on the compliment

If it’s a your beautiful or stunning or something along those lines just by it’s self I take it for what it is

If they tell me I the most beautiful person on hear or such I will just chuckle and desmis it as there’s a lot more beautifuler than me

Or if they even dire say I have a better ass than they girlfriend or wife or what ever I will also turn my nose up to it

Same for me, its not often a guy receives a compliment, so I would assume it is genuine, otherwise why would they bother to send one. I can understand why women would be wary though, as Meli said it could be just to make their knickers slick

It depends who it’s from, you can’t always trust peoples motives on here.

I guess most of us have had the message that says they are sending a compliment with no agenda, but when you reply thanking them, the agenda appears!

In the forum I tend to accept them, as I think people probably know me a bit.

There are so many factors that vary how I receive the compliment, such as where and when it is given, what it’s regarding and also how I feel about the body part/item/outfit/or service given etc. In essence, having thought about all of that, I sound like bloody hard work. Luckily the Mr thinks I’m worth it...
