I really didn't think it would be up to much as it's a BBC drama and I usually find them conceted and boring but a friend had seen most of it and made me watch it from the beginning with her and its bloody epic.

Very much worth putting the time into binge watching this one OP

You do realise that little / no of the show is filmed in “brum land”. But accept it is set there.

Mainly filmed Liverpool & Manchester, actually filming in the former last week on/near Canning St.

I find the aunt (forget her name) and her sometimes brummie / sometimes scouse accent amusing

It is excellent. Top quality writing, acting and production. The themes are a little repetitive but that's true of most long running series. Also has some of the strongest female characters on recent television.

Primary filming locations are Birmingham and at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley (I know someone who works there When is a regular extra)."

“To realise 1919 Birmingham was always going to be a massive challenge. The Birmingham we needed to recreate, due to a combination of the war and town planners, doesn’t exist anymore. We decided that Yorkshire was the best place to base the drama ‘Peaky Blinders’. A combination of fantastic period locations, great crew and support from Screen Yorkshire and the local council. Most of our filming was in Leeds and supplemented by shooting a couple of key locations in Liverpool and Birmingham.”

Frith Tiplady, Executive Producer, Tiger Aspect Productions

It is filmed out of studios in Leeds, with key locations in other places inc. Birmingham. I don’t know how else to tell people this, it is not (mainly) filmed in brum. Not quite sure how I can be any clearer.
