It makes me sad. As even the most powerful minds can make us feel worthless etc.

So this threads is just for people to share some tips and help others who may suffer in silence with anxious thoughts and share healthy alternatives to self harm..

1. The most important is taking. We all know this yet people don't want to burden people. This is not the case.

2 is my preferred tip with using elastic bands on my wrists and if I get these feelings I snap them onto the skin to take my mind off whatever has come over It.

3. Is just simply lighting a candle and watching it flicker and burn.

I have alot more. And wondered what other tips you may have

Something on the TV and easy watch show you've seen before can be a gentle distraction.

For me my 2 dogs have gotten me through some very anxious times

Fresh air and music. Also staying away from negative people or people that act like you can just "get over it" that sort of language helps no one.

I'm looking into Dr Nicole Lepera and Dr Caroline Leaf.

They seem to make an awful lot of sense and sounds like there's far more work to do than I ever realised.

Tatooine

Depending on the problem, specific meditations, yoga, understanding of the emotions and feelings, learning detachment form ego, understanding which brain is dealing with the problem, learning to listen and cummunicate with the inner-self.

Sometimes the hard parts help us to understand that we are part of a bigger conscientiousness and you have the power of the universe and simply have to believe.

the abyss

Make a soothe bag/jar for when you are struggling to think of something else to do to take your mind off the bad thoughts.

You write down lots of things on separate bits of that make you happy. Such as reading a book, youtubing cat videos, favourite song to dance too etc. Put them all in the bag and when you are struggling, pick one out and do that (or choose another if you aren't feeling it) Even for 10mins! It can change your entire feeling

Also, radical acceptance by Tara Brach, and any Brene Brown.

Doing the work is tough, and ongoing, but so so worth it

I'm currently doing CAT therapy (Cognitive Analytic Therapy) until my therapy groups can meet again so got time spare with my worker. I'll certainly read up about those docs you said about. Thanks.
