After reading a few threads lately about how hard it can be as a newbie on fab, I thought it might be nice to have a thread to either introduce yourselves to everyone or welcome and chat to all the new ones here.

I've been here before a few years ago, I was a regular poster in the forums and now I'm back again, it can be daunting trying to step back into it all again.

So come and say hello, meet new people, meet the 'forumites' (I actually hate that word!) and have a space to feel free to post away!

All honesty, the place is filled with friendly people like it was years ago, and that’s what appeals in this place. I hope they get to know me, I’d like to discover new friends again. Life is wonderful with people to share it with.

Tough going. But I'm just dipping in and out, staying out of trouble

I think sometimes, you need time to assess what's going on and who is who. I guess you need a little patience and it just clicks again xx

I think so too. I have always liked to connect on a more familiar level which is possible as you read what they have to say.

I've only ever met from the forums, I think I just felt more comfortable that way x

We got away with calling ourselves newbies for a couple of years but now in our third or fourth year that claim no longer works.

We will soon be firmly on the down slope to becoming cynical old has-beens.

And PNG you might want to double check your phone spec - Samsung had a period where their phones weren't waterproofed a year or so ago, as I discovered (fortunately not to my cost) last summer when mine died after getting wet.

Good, it can be a bit of a jump into the unknown at first but quite a lot of the regular users have posted here too. I'm sure they will be just as welcoming.

It just takes time, I know it took me a while to feel confident and yes, when no one knows you, it can feel like you're not being acknowledged. It'll happen though, there's enough new people to help everyone out as well xx
