We're greedy we have both .

We usually start with toast, marmalade and coffee while waiting for our cooked breakfast then follow that with a pastry, fruit and yogurt and anything else that takes our fancy

If we're in a hotel, it's because we've been busy in some way or other and therefore, come morning, we'll be ravenous. Everything is up for eating!

If I'm on holiday it's

Orange juice, croissant, alpen, full English breakfast but trade the sausage and black pudding for extra egg and bacon, fried bread and toast, mug of tea.

I'm a great believer that Continental breakfasts are only there to provide the British with rolls, butter, jam, cheese and pastries to pinch and provide snacks to eat around the pool or in the room

It depends what I am doing with my day

If I am up and out, I don't want that feeling of heavy belly that a full english gives

However, if I am soaking up a hangover and have a day by the pool, then it's just the job

Ideally, a good breakfast buffet is best

Fresh fruit & berries, yoghurt, pastries, coffee, iced water - and, if they look good, a couple of chunky sausages

Both. Tables laden with overflowing freshly baked goods, amazing poached eggs, lots of choices of fruit juice and fresh fruit. If the hotel has actual honeycomb as well, even better. I miss staying in very wanky nice hotels.

Cheltenham and London

I love a full English breakfast but I have found that hotels almost always do a really poor imitation of one.

Either it has been left in the buffet section for ages and just tastes greasy and a bit cold or if they cook it fresh (which is rare) they will go all “posh” and try to tart it up so that it becomes something that actually isn’t really a proper full English.

Rant over

Full English. Sets me up for the day and I don't generally eat again until dinner..

I stayed in a hotel in Dallas for a work trip once, and they had a variation on it except they threw on overdone bacon, pancakes and maple syrup, which was not for my taste, but impressive in the amount.

"So what's the difference between Full English and Full Scottish? Is there a Full Irish or Welsh? "

As far as I know they're mostly the same with a few regional tweaks... so with Scottish you'd get tattie scones and a slice of haggis on the plate, and ideally it'd be Stornoway black pudding. Think there are Welsh and Irish versions too - all with similar substitutions of local favourites.

Does a scotish not have Lorne sausage or for 5he uninitiated square sausage...

Irish has Sosa bread and white pudding..

Think welsh has lava bread
