I could easily list a hundred album covers that I love but the one that immediately jumps out for me is Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan. It's got an effortless cool about it that encapsulates the artist, the music within and a moment in time perfectly. And being rock's first double album meant you also got the full folded out image as well which only adds to the magnificence.

There and to the left a bit

There are loads from iconic poses or artwork to ones that you just notice something different each time you see it - think covers have lost their impact since the rise of compact discs and even more so now downloads and streaming are the major source, which personally I think is a real shame.

The album cover (front and back) along with the inner sleeve used to be as much part of the pleasure of a new album as the music - I used to spend ages devouring the covers, the sleeve notes and more- nowadays it's rare that I'll even look at the little booklet that comes with a CD

Brighton - even Hove!

I’ve always liked the Yes album covers. I saw an exhibition in Brighton once and the original paintings are like 10feet by 20feet - really huge.

An album cover I was always fascinated by as a younger person was one by Black Sabbath and it had devil like creatures on a bed.
