They are ex's for a reason obviously, but why do they have to be bitter for years on end?, take pot shots at you when they can or just be utterly nasty at every opportunity?

Bearing a grudge against you for what seems like an eternity.

And why is it when you move on they bloody hate it? Even when they don't want you back etc they still can't stand it.

And what is it with the 'I don't like hearing or knowing about you being with someone else.' what is that about??? That one bugs the hell out of the me. I genuinely would like any ex to be happy and well and not be miserable. Why doesn't it work both ways?

I find it tends to be the person who got the elbow that carries on like that. There seems to be a sense of being wronged making it harder for them to move on. Or even see things as they really are/were.

I tend to cut all ties with mine and move on to a new chapter... I just find it easier, but wish them all well +hope they find happiness

I saw my ex today. It was very amicable. We even hugged.

It doesn't always have to end with recriminations.

I have about 4 exes on my Facebook too, ok a lot are from high school or college but I try to stay friendly even when we break up. We shared years together and we must have had a lot in common.

Unless there's a horrible reason for things ending, in which case I wouldn't want to stay friends.

No reason not too, just didn't work out for whatever reason but time together was good for me
