When the golfers shout "birdie" no one will know if they have spotted the rhea or done an under par shot.

Well I can't see why the police snipers are not out with dart tranquilizer guns. It would be good training for them. If one pecks a young child then people will be up in arms because the police did nothing..

Oh cripes - I'm glad I moved. Coming across these would be my absolute nightmare - their necks always have a longer reach than you anticipate - and I've experienced their ferocious beaks!

For me at least, this would be like an unseen clip out of Jurassic Park

Surely they should be warning dogs, poor creatures could be attacked by small children and flightless birds.

How'd you know they're not up your street? They can run jolly fast for miles. Herts to Essex, no problem for Mr and Mrs Ostrich.

I think these evil buggers should be taken out by police snipers before a child or adult is attacked.. they are Five feet high and can run at 50 mph. It's bad enough hitting a pheasant on the roads that cause damage to cars without these evil buggers on the loose

I want to know why they left South Africa for South America in the first place? Something very dodgy about these birds.

You cant trust these Fowel foreigners..... coming over here, with their fancy plumage, stealing our grubs and worms! and it's not like you see them integrating with the local Ducks and Swans!

Send them back to their own county! Make an Eggsample out of them!

Rumours are that their numbers have swollen to 60 overnight with other birds held in captivity doing there own "chicken run" style escape from zoos, shoots and aviaries

We're looking at

20 original escapees

7 penguins

6 chickens

4 swans

9 pheasants

4 geese

5 flamingos

2 golden eagles

2 budgerigars

And

1 cockatoo

The numbers are bound to swell as news spreads

Be careful out there folks !

A company that sells construction equipment has them in the yard and they are there all the time.

They friendly enough but once it's dark they will kick out and grab hold of you.

As they run quick you got bugger all chance against them.

I don't know how you train them but they look at you menacingly.
