What would you think.

I'm only asking as I've got my first job interview in months and I haven't had a hair cut since October.

i live alone so I've let it grow wild.

As a actual employer i wouldnt judge however i am very chilled with my staff.

If i was going for a interview i wouldnt wear a beanie.

If you wore it during the interview that would be odd, but then again I am not your typical interviewer.

I care more about your attitude and work ethic than what you wear. Will you get on with the team is more important to me than if your shoes are polished.

Everyone knows the current situation with regards barbers and hair dressers, so try and tame it a bit, but frankly I wouldn’t want to work for a firm that didn’t select me based solely on my hair (not that they would ever admit to it).

I will have to tame it.. it's been sprung on me rather quickly and I've only got a few hours. I just got worried that it's so wild I'd have to hide it with whatever I had avaliable.

Hi mate, I’m a work coach at a local job centre and I would strongly advise not to wear it as it doesn’t look very professional and first impressions go along way to how outcome of the interview. This is as important factor as how the conversation also transpires. I noted from your post that you haven’t had an interview in a long time so I would also advise spending some time in doing some research into your prospective employer and also have a long YouTube fir interview techniques as the website indeed has just launched its own channel and has uploaded a lot of useful content, hope his helps and good luck with the interview

I’d be annoyed at such a poor excuse for not making an effort with the hair. A hair cut isn’t an excuse.

I'd echo what others have said, no beanie. If you can tie it back, that would be the best option. As a chef I'd want to know you were clean with excellent hygiene standards, and a beanie just doesn't give that impression, practical as it may be.

Beanie hat in the winter and cold times are acceptable for general activities to help stay warm but job interviews would be a big no no for me. No matter the state of ones hair, given the current situation I think people understand and how bad can it be really that you can at least make an effort to look presentable.

Surely it depends on the nature of the job and the circumstances of the interview?

There are many jobs where head gear can actually look tidier than none.Sometimes it identifies people as a staff member.

I wear a beanie hat indoors a lot of the time nowadays to save on the heating bills. I lose a lot of body warmth through my head.

When I am in Zoom meetings I've always got a small beanie on to make my headphones more comfortable.

If I were an employer (Or not) I'd be far more prejudiced against baseball caps, especially worn back to front!

No dude. I've always used a barber.living alone with no bubble and just my 9 year old when she's at mine. I don't do short hair I have big ears

I'm an employer. Definitely no beanie. Make the best of your hair you can. Maybe make light of the fact you've not been able to get an haircut. If it was me I'd understand and see the funny side. As a chef you will know that preparation is everything. Good luck
