Roast potatoes.... Nice and crispy!

Veg.... I'm not fussy really. I do like brussel sprouts though so deffo them. Roast butternut squash. Brocoli. Carrots.

Stuffing. Sage and onion only.

Yorkshire puddings regardless of what meat we are having.

Lots of gravy with hp sauce in it.

I use a steamer.

Always add cabbage and leek with lamb, and always broccoli, cauliflower and carrots.

Carrots in batons not sliced, taste better somehow. Like triangle sandwich better than square

Normally broccoli and buttered carrots, sometimes sautéed leeks in cheese sauce.

Potatoes are normally roast but occasionally I'll push the boat out and make dauphinoise, especially if we are having roast beef.

Lincolnshire

Usually 5 veg, not counting roast potatoes, depending on the season - a selection of:

Steamed carrots, cauliflower stilton bake, curly kale, purple sprouting broccoli, braised leeks, mashed swede, roasted shallots with pancetta, balsamic braised red cabbage, roasted turnip, steamed runner beans, baby purple sprouts.

Love veg!

Love roasts ... we have roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, onion, garlic, squash, carrots and parsnips served with cauliflower and broccoli gratin, Brussels sprouts, carrot and Swede mash and cabbage ... all served with the usual trimmings and copious quantities of a red wine gravy

where do you find the room for it all? They seriously must be massive portions. I like veggies but can't find room for more than 2 unless I'm having one piece of everything!

Does anyone else have Yorkshire puddings and gravy as a starter, as they take up valuable room on the plate, so I can’t top load it with roast spuds and beef ?

Please RT

Surely you just serve smaller portions of many vegetables? Any leftovers become cheesy bubble and squeak on Monday! Lush!

Most people probably don't eat enough veg to be fair, but we love them just sat down to supper on my own, sitting at the table and had four full sized portions of veg! But I don't have a sweet tooth so don't have a dessert

I just obviously don't eat big dinners! A couple of slices of meat 2 potatoes (halves) and a spoonful of each veg. Doesn't seem worth making loads of different veg. Would be too costly. There's only 4 of us.

A roast in our house is a very social occasion and will last for a few hours! Not a weekly thing for sure, but the veg is the cheap bit we all love and the leftovers become another meal probably served with more veg lol ...

No matter how social...I just don't get it. We do it weekly just without mountains of food. Just all different I guess.

We don't do big portions or heaped plates for sure and only cook for the amount of people (& who's - there my son eats like a horse!) We just all love veg ... as they've all left home it's a social gathering, often with friends, and we'll eat and natter for hours (we're from Italian heritage so food is an important part of socialising!!)

Always, always, roast potatoes with crushed garlic and rosemary, roasted parsnips and carrots, sprouts. I add clementine juice to the carrots and cook the clementines too for the gravy, the gravy, oh my!

I do this every single Sunday without fail with beef and homemade yorkies. Don't forget the horseradish and mint sauce, wrong for some I know but we love mint sauce. This is 'THE' food treat of the week for us and never get tired of it.

Him.
