So I bought a wand after hearing so much about them... And I hated it!

I think my clit must be very sensitive, as even on the lowest setting and barely touching me the wand was powerful enough to be painful and then made my clit go completely numb.

Agreeing with the don't apply directly to the clit posts - you can always try using it whilst wearing knickers and that way you have a barrier against the full sensation of it. Lots of lube helps as well.

Having typed that, sometimes a toy isn't compatible with you - you might be better with something that isn't so focused on your clit.

Normally I love direct clit contact, but all my other toys are far less powerful, I just wasn't expecting it! I just shoved it straight on dry, which may have been the issue

this is the exact same for me , i dont even find it direct, its just too large an area of too powerful stimulation when i need something much more targeted, on a previous thread i was recommended to buy attachments but couldn’t bear to throw more money at it tbh so haven’t tried any

You're not usual Kitty. I won't repeat the good advice already given except to say use lube with the rubbery head.

Use plenty of lube and don’t keep it on a set place for too long, move it around as if massaging the area. Also, hold the wand itself in various ways to get a different angle etc and we also use a variety of toys not to over stimulate or desensitise an area.
