"It's on sky, or 'the internet' Watched the 4k hdr version last night, better than the 'jostice league' but let's be honest, still not great, and DC really need to sort their fx out, looks like something marvel/Disney would have release in the early years. One of the better dc releases and one of ZS's better movies to be fair. However the releasing it in 'imax' 4x3 for a streaming world is just pretentious for its sake. But hey, worthy of a watch, just not everything it's been built up to be. Impo" but you see the whole frame in the imax format, you would normally see a cropped version if you wanted wide-screen. You could always zoom in if you're that fussed

"Initial reaction, self-indulgiant shit. The hero it was missing was Captain Editor. I could condense it by an hour and I know comparatively little about film editing. More than happy to discuss this, but you you want to defend a film that has a five minute long set piece in which it uses an 'M&S Christmas advert' style rendition of a nineties rave track to hammer home that we're watching the Flash, be my guest. I'm confident I can argue my piece!" People asked/petitioned for the Snyder cut of Justice League, so that is what he gave them. His vision for the movie, he has stated that in a fair few interviews. He is a visual storyteller, his directing skills are in visuals primarily, just as Michael Bay's are in explosions. It's the very reason he ended it on a cliffhanger - it was always meant to be movie 3 of a 5 movie series. Highley unlikely that the remaining two will ever be made but his version was going to have that ending so that is what we got. Very much a Zack Snyder movie to the core. So yes I agree it didn't need to be as long as it was, but compared to the theatrical version it was still far superior in every way. Largely because it was 4 hours, it could flesh out the plot much more.

I know everything you said. I also know it was all after the fact. This film would never, ever, have been released theatrically. There is at least an hour of redundant footage that could be excised. That's being generous. It's tonally more in keeping with the rest of what Snyder did, but was that really any good? This is an over-long, exposition-laden film that is essentially the same as the theatrical cut in terms of story beats. Yes it's marginally better, but with the luxury of hindsight. It's by no means a good film. I've seen people literally calling this the best comic book film of all time. Like, fuck off. Snyder has made a bunch of visually interesting but ultimately hollow films. His Dawn remake wag visually arresting, but lacking any of the substance and social commentary of the original. His 300 was almost a beat for beat copy of the comic. Watchmen similarly, although although again lost much of the nuance. Have you seen Sucker Punch? Man of Steel fundamentally misunderstood the character. BvS was a mess in its theatrical form and little better in its extended version. People have been acting as though this was long long lost masterpiece, whereas if it had been released as intended it would almost certainly have garnered similar reviews to his previous efforts. Without the Twitter illuminati, WB's need for content for it's streaming service and the pandemic this would never have seen the light of day. Fair play to anyone who enjoys it, but I found it decidedly average.

But I will list some good points: - it looked good - Steppenwolf actually had an story-arch - it didn’t try soo much to be funny - it had a coherent story Now the bad: - its fucking 4 hours long - here’s a tip try not conveying every emotion or action with s l o w m o t i o n - Jason Mamoa is a terrible actor everyone knows it that’s why he get minimal lines - the last 30mins are pointless if there’s not going to be a sequel - the film proves without a doubt Jared Leto and Jessie Eisenberg are the worst choice of casting ever - Zac Snyder fucking sucks
