Chams or Socials

My mum was hospitalised late December & still struggling. She’s to go back to work (where she caught it) in early April but she’ll never last 8 hours without a 2 hour sleep in the middle.

This might sound like a silly question but is long covid any different from post viral fatigue syndrome?

I had covid from the week before Christmas and suffered quite badly with it until the end of January before I felt well again.

Was okay for a couple of weeks after that and now suffer on and off with the extreme tiredness, brain fog, unable to sleep, covid headaches, random sore throats and sometimes my smell and taste is gone again.

Lasts for a few days, goes again and then reappears when it feels like it.

Wow yes that’s me, I got the brain fog late, along with the taste and smell going, I think I’m going mad sometimes, or worried about dementia,

My chest still full of gunk, and the fatigue come in waves

All I got told by the covid doctors is eat well, invest in some good vitamins to build your immune system up again, rest but don't give in to always needing a sleep during the day and to try push through the tiredness instead of giving into it. Fresh air and walking helps.

I feel your pain though its a shitty illness and just lingers for ages if unlucky enough to still be suffering.

A question posed to a professor on BBC radio 5 live this morning - does the vaccine help with long covid? Her answer was yes there is some evidence that it can

Just crap that post covid patients have to wait until the right age group gets called forward for the vaccine.

I can understand why obviously just doesn't help when people still suffer the effects of covid long after they had it thats all.

I don't understand why someone with long covid would need to be priority for vaccine?
