Need to get a new car soon and wondered if a lease car would be the best way to go. Has anyone here got a lease car?.

Don’t get a lease car you get a mileage limit and have to pay when you go over the mileage and if the alloys get damaged you have to pay for them to be repaired same with the body work x

I lease. Get a new car every 2 years. It works for me. My dog goes in the car. Not sure if he’s allowed or not . Don’t see why not.

But you set the mileage, so if you know how many miles you do in a year you just multiply it for the contract term.

Talk to the Car Dealership and they will often tell you the best option, I have done both HP and currently on a Lease and under my mileage (thanks COVID!)

Dog is no problem, just clean it before it goes back, and remember any damage over normal wear and tear you will be charged!

Lease cars allow you into a bracket of car you may not be able to afford on normal HP finance - that is, of course, because you aren't financing the whole cost

The other positive is you can 'flip' your cars more often

Of course, the car is never yours, you get your botty smacked for being over on the miles and for any minor damages on return

Be wary of what is and isn't included in terms of maintenance and servicing - if maintenance isn't included in the lease, most lease companies will insist on main dealers only - which obviously adds to your outlay

Ref the dogs, generally no problem as long as they don't do any damage beyond muddy paw prints that can be cleaned

You get mileage on PCP options too.

Trick is you nearly always understate your mileage, as it drops your monthly payments. If your mileage isn't massively excessive at the end you either pay very little, or nothing toward it if you hand the car back/trade for a new one

The downside to a lease car u end up putting more in and when u come to change it they hit u with everything happened to me. They wanted more money than what the car was worth for me to buy it. Just go get one with a loan with low %.

I just bought a Toyota chr no intrest as well

Always have them, put it through my business so now just gone full electric so brilliant for the tax, mileage is no problem if your honest at the start, do any repairs before you hand back

Mine never goes over. It’s not that difficult to work out how many miles you do and add a few extra on. Although I got this one last March and have done about 600 miles so I have a lot to play with this coming year!

For the last 10yrs i have been getting a brand new car every 9 months through my brother in laws work. I pay a monthly payment but no insurance or tax. I do pay for scratches and wheel damage. His work is now doing away with this perk so soon i will have no car and not much deposit for a new one. Thought maybe a lease car would be my best bet as i am pretty clueless about cars.

My friend has just given back a lease car as you get a mileage cap and it wasn't much, after you go over it its quite expensive.

I've had 2 lease cars with 2 different dealerships. It worked out the best deal for me all round. Can trade it in anytime and I've went over the mileage and it wasn't that much. I just added it on to my new deal and it worked out pennies extra a month. Literally pennies. I added on a service plan so apart from the payment and petrol I'll drama free for the next 4 years. I always trade in before then tho. I'll never go back to finance or buying a car

PCP offers a good medium if you find a fair dealer who is interested in return custom and not milking every £ out of you

Toyota Finance are offering some good (low) % APR deals at ths minute, 0% on new and 4.9% on nearly new & used

Thanks everyone. I will certainly look into lease cars. As i work nights my worst fear is breaking down in the dark so need something i can rely on.
