3 hour miseryfest

I was prepared to suffer through three hours of the Irishman but it was OK actually. Wouldn't watch it again but worth seeing once.

Probably the last time Paccino, de Niro and Pescci will get the chance to work together again I think.

Definitely a slow burner. You just have to take in the vibe of the movie. That's where the enjoyment lies.

Cinema Paradiso, the long version I think is just short of 3 hours. Some fans of the film don’t like it due to where the story takes us (no spoilers) but I can happily enjoy the film for an extra hour.

Using 2 hours 30 mins or longer as the benchmark for "long":

Goodfellas

Pulp Fiction

Dances With Wolves

The Longest Day

Saving Private Ryan

Gladiator

It's one of those movies that requires a bit of thinking about. It's very much science beautifully interwoven with drama.

It's a geek's paradise.
