Another provocative and controversial post from me.

I noticed frozen avocado in Aldi today. Had anyone tried it, what was it like?

Manchester (she/her)

I've tried it from Tesco.

Mushy and not as flavoursome, but cheaper/it'll do

I've had it before, not as nice but easy and convenient especially now living on my own!

Ok, thanks both. I'll buy some and keep it for emergencies. I eat a lot of avocado but once you've cut one you have to eat it all.

It's great if you're blending it anyway.

Is it mushy? That's my concern

You never really know if the fresh avocado is going to be ok, so frozen is a good back up. I’ve used the Iceland pack when I fancy mozzarella, tomato and avocado sandwich.

Tasteless, mushy, revolting.. 100 miles apart from a fresh one

Store cut avocado in water for up to 3 days in the fridge with zero browning!

Just chuck the leftover half in a tub with water and it won't brown at all

I'm thinking I won't buy it then because I only really eat it either diced or with a spoon straight from the skin

I used to use it in smoothies until I discovered Morrison’s Wonky Avocados, they’re cheaper than the normal “perfect” ones and just as good
