Derby

Not had many but it seems those I have had I seem to have done twice.

2 surgilig ops when I dislocated my collarbone, first one didn't take very well so needed a second, left me with a fab scar

Rhinoplasty, I've broken my nose a lot so had it sorted twice and one of the breaks was the hospital doing it on purpose to teach me how to straighten it myself as they got fed up with me going in to have it bent back into place

Circumcision in my early 30s, morning glory is not much fun with stitches in!!!

Yes, it's under my keks and actually blends in quite well with the stretch marks now. I was 15 when it was done, I think?? I've got loads of random scars from the other surgeries too now. It was my laparoscopy that I had major gas issues with. Serious shoulder pain

"As I am sat with a half smiling half grimacing face thanks to a local anaesthetic, I am pondering

What operations have you had"

Lucky you - have had four back operations all fully awake and feeling the first, second, third cut then the stitching up..

same for knee operations after smashing them, because fellow officer dropped base plate of a mortar a bit too quick onto the carrier frame... runs in the family can not get d*unk, medication do not work...

Before back operation "3" they gave me 2 shots of synthetic morphine with words "you soon be out"... caught me down at coffee machine??

Only good thing out of the defect gen and rare blood type is that can't catch various viruses...

It's grin and take the pain

Most hospitals don’t do bands any more as they can become bonded to your internal organs and cause life threatening problems. I have had weight loss surgery - if you want a chat pm me.

Yep, right in. The gp couldn't get it out, neither could the local hospital. I was sent to a hospital 30 miles away and they couldn't get it out either, so they told my parents to bring me back in the morning for a GA. The warm moist environment in my ear had caused the bean to begin germination

That's kinda cool

I didn't include my zillion oesophageal endoscopes or the colonoscopy I had while fully conscious. Tis weird having a camera up or down your orifices and seeing your innards on screen. The doc took pics for my own interest and my fundoplication was live streamed for surgeon training!

Most people having fundoplication have other problems so they want to get it done ASAP. He didn't mind taking longer with me under GA, while he explained each step etc. He was going to record it too but apparently only the live stream worked. Oh well.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

You may want a cuppa for this C.

I've had 32 operations on my ears to try and fix them. First was when I was just under 2 years old, the last was in 2013.

I've a screw in my skull for my bone anchored hearing aid.

Had a pea removed from my nose when I was 4.

Appendectomy at 7.

4 teeth out at 14.

A variety of stitching up and putting back together of my innards after an incident at 17.

I've also got a shunt in my spine to drain the excess fluid as it was building up pressure in my brain and among other things making me go blind.

And I've had 6 discectomy/decompression surgeries since 2008.

Had 10 scrapes to remove miscarriages, the second to last one was a delight as I was bleeding out as they were getting me into theatre. They used a lot of other people's blood that day.

I'm sure I've forgotten one.

Total delight me. I'm a proper catch

No! I have some awesome pics post op..

But I've had..

a foramen decompression

3 shunt surgeries

9 brain moniters

Shunt put in my vena cava

Next is another foramen decompression and (brain) tonsillectomy.

Also had wisdom teeth out, 4 births, 1 being born asleep and had to have surgery after.

I'm basically malfunctioning as a human

Open reduction, internal fixation to repair a trimalleolar fracture.

Basically I have plates and pins in my ankle after breaking the three bones that connect to your foot

Essure sterilisation procedure

And will need heart surgery at some point to repair a leaky valve

"3 for me.

Arthroscopy on my knee to remove torn meniscus cartilage, gender reaffirmation/vaginoplasty and breast implants.

Got to admit the feeling of going under is something I could never tire of. As a lifelong insomniac its so weird falling asleep so quickly lol

Have you any more planned Jaime x"

Well there’s always liposuction and a tummy tuck

In all seriousness though no, I’ve got nothing else I want to get done but the knee surgery was only ever a short term solution so I’m sure there might be some other tinkering with that in the future

Mine are nothing compared to some of you!

18 months ago I had a grapefruit-sized ovarian cyst removed, along with the ovary and fallopian tube. That one was planned. Then 6 weeks ago I had to have a very unplanned gallbladder removal, followed by an endoscopy the next day (which I’m going to count because it was under general anaesthetic) to round up the gallstones that had escaped.

In the near future I’m probably going to have to have more surgery to fix a colovesical fistula and maybe also the apparently “significant” bowel adhesions in the area, but I haven’t seen the specialist yet so I don’t know what’ll be involved.

Middle finger left hand repaired after chopped the end of it off,

Right hand fingers repaired after sticking them in a wood chipper

I think that's the same as what I had, the Pyloromyotomy one. Scar on your right side under your ribcage?
