"Yes it's true. All marriages are a scam, for financial purposes only." Surely this cannot be true...

"People who get married do not end up any happier than they were when they were single!? " It’s untrue. Unless you’re in a bad marriage, or are chronically depressed

"I'm no psychologist but surely that comes down to each relationship. I'm "happily" single. Why? Because previous partners have fucked with my head and how I view the world and the people in it. Had I had therapy to resolve underlying issues regarding my relationship with my mother and unwired the bad wiring there, I'd have hopefully made different partner choices which may have led to me being happily married now. So, by happily single, I just mean "safely single" Seems the experience has now made you a much wiser and stronger person. Relationships can teach us that not everyone has the same heart as we do. " It has yeah, but it's also a bitter pill to swallow and takes some acceptance. I'd never imagined saying in my early 40s that I'll never have love again, I'll never share my bed, hold hands, share glances, birthdays, Xmas's, holidays and hopes with someone else. No looking at photos of happy faces on my walls and saying "wasn't that a lovely day" It's upsetting, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. The point is, that's less upsetting and more favourable than being lied to, cheated on, used as a punch bag.

"I'm happily married and wouldn't change it. I still enjoy sex with others, so have the best of both worlds, but my connection with my husband is extremely deep routed xx" Guessing this is a good marriage where each partner secretly suspects they got the better deal.

"People who get married do not end up any happier than they were when they were single!? " I was generally happy single, but I have some love friends. I am honestly happier now than I ever remember being before marriage. Cal

"Very true are the words:- “SINGLE doesn’t always mean lonely. RELATIONSHIP doesn’t always mean HAPPY.” It is far better to be single wishing you were married than married wishing you were single. " Completely agree I think it's often the case that happy single people and happy marriages are the products of those people involved being intrinsicly happy and fulfilled within themselves. They don't necessarily need a partner for fulfilment, it's a beautiful bonus.
