When somebody messages me, or when I see an interesting post on the forums I always read the profile as it gives me some idea of what the person may be like.

I do, and if someone contacts me I read their profile before opening the mail. If the profile is shit or they don't match what my profile says I'm looking for, the mail gets deleted without being read

However as a previous poster mentioned...she switches off if it's full of dos and donts as if addressed to a five year old. Other turn offs for me (in no particular order) are lack of information such as location put as Anytown or Minxville; text speak; profiles in capitals; poor spelling; poor grammar; just to name a few. Wait on...about that list

However I know that a lot of people don't bother to read profiles, and if they do they only pay attention to the bits they like.... And ignore other bits....!

..just put something in your profile that you want putting in the message subject box that way any messages without said word you know they,ve not read your profile..so you can delete them straight away..
