Psychological for me.

I am far too scared of horror, 20 mins in to a horror, the first chime of creepy music and I make any excuse to leave the room

Psychological.... I like the ones with the atmospheric music, that evoke a sense of dread and keep you hooked with little clues and supernatural twists. Like The Witch.

I'm not fond of gory, it makes my stomach turn. Or jump scares. Jump scares make me laugh.

Gore seems like a competition on who can make the sickest shizz. Human centipede, Hostel, Saw, etc. It’s just not interesting anymore, and the story is usually so full of holes that it becomes ridiculous.

Psychological horror is king, as far as I’m concerned. I like to feel like I have been left in a really unstable and sketchy place by the end of the film. Like I’m scared to turn the light off for the rest of the week.

i think the original version of the hitcher with rutger hauer is one of the most frightening roles ive seen in a movie.

the way he carries the role is chilling. even the madness in his smile sends shivers down the spine.

i remember when the film came out people were just not picking anyone up roadside as it was so disturbing.

Hitcher made me think of the boys next door. Was a really good film, one of those films that just slipped under the radar and got forgotten about all to quickly.

Quite a dark and some found to be a disturbing road trip film that starts to go wrong and just gets worse for the two main characters.

Well worth a watch though.

I saw Scream at the cinema. I didn't understand why I would want to watch a graphic representation of a knife plunging into a woman's chest. Luke

Scream isn’t that graphic really, it’s like a cartoon. The scream films are actually intended to be dark comedies that are satirising teen culture and the slasher genre (most obviously in scream 2)
