"Some people are very comfortable in their own company" Exactly, I've lived alone for the past 8 years and know exactly where everything is, don't have to wrestle the TV Remote of anybody, and a pack of bog rolls will last me for months

"I’ve lived alone since 2013. I am happy with the freedom it offers but it is a pain on here as being a single male over 50 seems to reduce chances of connecting. Would be happy to find a single lady to have NSA arrangement to include club visits without is moving in. Open to offers!! " you and me both pal,but unlikely to happen.

"Sometimes boring sometimes solace" I think sometimes we crave the opposite of what we have. I love being in full control of my own space , routine and time but also don’t like to be solitary too often

"Coming home to an empty house, not having to make polite conversation, can have a bath, not have a bath, run out of food and live on cornflakes for a day, nobody pestering for sex when I am not in the mood, total control of the remote control, no compromises, nobody telling me I shouldn't do this or shouldn't have said that......pure freedom of choice." what she said x2

It ended very amicably, but I feel so much more an individual since I lived alone.

" Do you not think a soulmate holds you to account and makes you a better person? " I think if you're lucky enough to have met your soul mate - then living with them feels right. I've only lived with the wrong ones. I'm embracing doing what I want. It feels beautiful- I have always lived on eggshells in the past. I still tiptoe around - afraid to make noise. Then I remember I'm free

Do you not think a soulmate holds you to account and makes you a better person?" i find this incredibly reductionist thinking - why cant we hold ourselves accountable? why is that reserved for people who found their soulmate and who says you even have to live with your soulmate

I have lived alone, except for my daughter, since I left my husband 22 years ago. Nothing would ever induce me to co-habit with a man again. I think it was Charles Dickens who said something about a visitor after 3 days being like fish that had gone off.

Do you not think a soulmate holds you to account and makes you a better person?" We're all adults here. Why should we require someone to hold us to account when we're fully capable of doing that for ourselves? I'm not a project for someone else to improve.

"I can honestly say I'm never bored at home, though I can be extremely boring. I bloody love my own space and couldn't share it now. Covid has meant that I've felt lonely, but I'm missing someone in my bed and nights out with friends, not having someone constantly there in my space. Having someone stay the night but go home the following day is the best of all worlds for me - they always get me groomed (Well, as groomed as I get), they always get fresh bedding and clean towels, a clean flat and me in an agreeable, welcoming mood, prepared to go to considerable lengths for their comfort. They don't have to put up with me greasy haired and bleary eyed, or when I've got a cob on and I'm just being a cow for the sake of it. They never have to follow me into the loo after I've flushed a stinker, or listen to me whine after a bad day in work."

"I'm enjoying it.No hassle, No nagging, No stress either.Go out whenever I want and back peacefully.I'm at work most times ,so I've got music playlists and variety of drinks to suite my mood. I was thinking of getting a cat, but it might try to Rob my peace with too much meowing??,so yet to make a decision. " Get a long haired syrian hamster! They don't make much noise, and can be easily tamed to sit on your lap and be stroked like a cat!
