So because not many shops are open and it is all pretty much online what have people bought for their mothers today is it just the usual chocolates and flowers? Or is it skydiving

My present is me.... Going to Socially distance surprise her as she goes for a walk in the park. Haven't seen her since god knows when.... She's gonna cry so hard.

I'll also get her a little something but it was her birthday on Thursday so she'll have her present for that to open too.... A little Pandora charm that is a cactus and says free hugs.... I don't do hugs and can't do hugs at the moment

As a family we don't subscribe to the whole gift thing, usually just time, laughter and a fantastic meal out ... this year is my first Mother's Day on my own but I will be having a roast and all the trimmings delivered!

My mother being in her 80s really doesn’t want anything, and being in her 80s gets cranky when people spend money on her on things she doesn’t need. So it’s the usual hanging baskets that she can plant herself and dinner out weekly once lockdown finishes. That’s the thing my parents appreciate most, the family time together with nice food so that’s what we do.

I'm seeing my Mum briefly today for the first time in months. Taking a 4 course lunch round for Step-Dad to finish cooking for them.

On a mooch

It’s never been a big thing in our family.

As a child I’d always make the parents a card, as it was done at school. I think in the last 39 years I’ve been with my parents on their day three times. They still get a card nowadays but presents is rare, although this year I have sent my mum an orange and yellow bromelia plant, a little bit of brightness until the summer.

We don’t need a day for them to know they are special.

My mum had an accident recently, affecting her mobility. I've bought her some deep moisturising haircare stuff and other bits and pieces and I shall go and wash her hair later, feed her chocolates and make her feel lovely.

Aww enjoy. My son is bringing my presents round later he says

Hope it's nicer than the card him and his brother sent which says;

"I choose my Mothers day cards like I do my nursing home: low cost and in a hurry"

What do you class as mother's music ? It would be a good topic for a thread

Seems like my son forgot it's mother's day. Never mind. My 4yo daughter made biscuits for me at nursery, painted me some pictures and chose flowers with Mr KC. All very lovely indeed

I put the theme on the book of the face and let the listeners choose.

Had suggestions such as Mama - Dave Berry, Mother People - The Mothers of Invention, Mother - Pink Floyd, Mother/Oh Mein Papa - Siouxie and the Banshees, to name a few

Northampton Somewhere

We got my mum in law a mobile plant stand and had some flowers delivered. My own mum is not around anymore, so the day always has a tinge of sadness to it no matter what else happens. I just put a big brave face on.

From my 3 I've had 2 different kinds of coffee beans, some salted caramel fudge, ferrero roches, a bottle of gin and 2 bunches of tulips. When I got home from work I had a massive hug from each of them and found out they had had an afternoon tea delivered. I'm so lucky, they know me so well. My daughter said she will run me a bath later and we'll probably have a game of scrabble to top it all off
