this - ive never been on mumsnet and to be honest living alone in a pandemic with bugger all else to do most of the time after work, i spend wayyyyy too much time on here but i never let threads that don’t interest me bother me

if the name tells me right off its not for me i scroll past, if i can’t tell i pop n then leave again if it dont like it

what i did let get to me at the start of the week was the content of some actual posts rather than threads themselves, it was a bit of a collective build up that made me go is this really how people think and behave because if it is then i despair with the world , but then since then ive read some great posts to bring me back a bit of faith in humanity, including some very progressive and insightful posts by men on the violence against women threads - _ea monkey i am looking at you

As the person that stated in a post (about how the forums have changed) earlier today that this place could be like Mumsnet at times, I should point out that it was meant not in a derogatory way (to either here or Mumsnet), and more as an illustration of how this place has become a lot more "issues" based at times lately, which from what I have seen and know of Mumsnet is a fair comparison.

Not that either here or Mumsnet are completely that way, or that there is any problem with "issues" based threads either - some have a lot of value and can provide good insight and sources of understanding.

Just a personal observation, nothing more, nothing less.

But no this is nothing like there, not been on in ages but it can be rather quite vicious & way more opinionated in a lot of the topics.

Plus There are zero dick pics & few male opinions.

This place is way more fun!
