He used to annoy me at times but couldn’t deny his knowledge and enthusiasm. A big loss to F1 and broadcasting when he left.

RIP

Best sports commentator of all time. Not a big f1 fan now but loved it in 80s and 90s when it was exciting, and he was going mad for it

Noooo.

That really is sad. I read his biography a couple of years ago, fascinating guy and so much more than just a F1 commentator.

Like others have said it’s a good old age and I believe he had reasonably good health even in old age, so can’t grumble, but he will be missed.

Same. He came across as an absolutely genuine gentleman and his life story is very interesting. His autobiography was presented to me at school as a prize.

exactly it was iconic.. bit like John motson at football and Ted Lowe at snooker.. modern commentators all sound the same...

Murray walker was probably one of the main reasons I got hooked on F1 and why I used to get up at 4 am on a Sunday, even after a skinfull Saturday night, his voice is synonymous with formula one, such a talented presenter who will be missed

R.I.P

A true legend, none of the modern people match up to him. His enthusiasm and fervour cannot be matched, one of the great commentators who have now passed.

Genuinely gutted. One of the voices of my childhood and a true legend, not just of motorsport but all sports commentary.

Absolute travesty he was never knighted.
