"Would women feel safer if they were licenced co carry a firearm? Is now the time? " What if they became disarmed from the firearm so the woman is now not armed but the person who wants to harm her is now armed with a firearm ?

"Would women feel safer if they were licenced co carry a firearm? Is now the time? " How do you limit the firearm to only being usable by women? Plenty of criminals get firearms by stealing them from legitimate owners.

"Would women feel safer if they were licenced co carry a firearm? Is now the time? " Is that a serious question, we live in what is supposedly a equal democracy, to allow women to carry a firearm, then the government would have to pass a law to allow all to carry a fireman, So hypothetical question if women could carry a firearm!! What's to stop her turning it on innocent ppl, if they are that way inclined... It's all about how we as a United society stand up and challenge the behaviour of the few, not allowing it and not accepting of it....comes down to "United we stand, divided we fall" we need to be a more united society to affect positive change

"No one should carry a gun unless they are going to be able to deal with the consequences of killing someone. Specialist armed police, soldiers in combat etc. " Excellent point. One of our senior staff where I work is 30 years former police. From pc to retirement and has the legitimate backup to prove his stories in the elite firearm unit (name obviously not allowed but you'll know where to look for it) the training required for it is intensely difficult for obvious reasons and the LAST thing you learn is how to fire a weapon. The man himself says constantly firearms should be banned cos the consequences after you've made that call are irreversible and devastating (I'm assuming he's actually got that unfortunate experience)

It just people in the UK think it's the wild wild West over here. It's criminals doing the majority of the murders not law biding ones.

Nope, including all deliberate murders etc. Most gun discharges resulting in injury in America are gun owners accidentally shooting themselves, family members etc. Also a large number of suicides of course.

"So to put the cat amongst the pigeons. How are you going to determine who is a woman? You are effectively saying that LGBTQ+ have no rights to identify as they want and must go back to the archaic birth gender. This belief that all men are perpetrators is ridiculous and is pure scare mongering. If you tell children dogs are dangerous they will naturally be scared of them. I’ve been attacked by more cats than I have dogs. I’m terrified of lions but I’ve never been attacked by one." Isn't it everyone's inherent right to protect themselves against bodily harm ? Gender and sexual preference included ?

I have different circumstances here compared to there. Pretty much everday life for me. It's not sad appalling that I have to carry it's just I choose to. I think a lone female, late at night in a train carriage would be perfectly entitled just to show a holstered six shooter. That would make him think twice before shooting. I saw a CCTV film from Kentucky where exactly the same thing happened and the lone female took out a gun and said she was going to shoot his balls off. The man yelled, Give Me A Chance... Ok said the woman.. Before I shoot, Swing Them..

So .if you are a woman and you see a man wanking opposite you.. the solution is to show them your gun? I'm really not but there is a completely different culture over here and the answer to everything ismt.. carry a gun. You can leave my guns out the equation that's me personally. But the use of non lethal mace on your manbits would be just as effective don't you think ? Mace is obviously a lot safer " Right and it could work there for women. I agree guns are not acceptable in the UK. There are other solutions. Those options should be available even if there is legislation on some sort of training to properly use mace.

"I would be interested to know if there is still the same levels of fear for women going out at night for n American states with concealed/open carry rights .." Personally I do not and I'm know alot of women who carry feel the same way. But as you can see the disdain for guns in the UK is not acceptable. Other means can be introduced as a personal choice. I am just giving the " gun society view " on self defense. There would be a huge public uproar over gun issues as you can plainly read.

"I would be interested to know if there is still the same levels of fear for women going out at night for n American states with concealed/open carry rights .." In North America, the rate was 32% and in Western Europe 22%. And in the UK, a new first-of-its-kind report from the Femicide Census shows that a man kills a woman every three days in the country – a statistic unchanged across the 10 years studied. Those Quoted stats are for femicide per se..... not for death by stranger.

Everyone banging on about krav maga and guns and mace are yet to suggest how people in my sort of situation should be protecting ourselves. "I should research it" apparently. I don't want random people having tasers, guns, mace or anything like that because they will end up in the wrong hands and be used to aid assaults.

I remember these boys in a white Vauxhall Nova were following me and my friend in the dark about 10pm we were 15 and they stopped by us and were asking us to get in the car. My friend shit herself and I got my can of deodorant out and the lighter, sprayed it and lit it so I hand a hand held flame thrower and told them to fuck off before I melted their faces off. It's what happens in a genuine situation of threat and whether it's pointless or a possible threat to me (someone takes it off me). I can't manoeuvre the chairs and handle a firearm especially easily, much harder if someone is trying to hurt me. Wouldn't different scenarios you can come up with be a better option and practice those scenarios ? It is what you put into it I have faith you can accomplish that." Utterly pointless here anyway, I can do what I like (within reason) on a range, but that's it. And if someone attacked me on a gun range, I'd struggle to get away with shooting them. It's a moot point and I have no desire to be armed. I've shot clay pigeons, rifles, bows and arrows etc. All good fun, but it's nothing more than amusement to me.

"What I am saying is that it is not compulsory to arm all women buy if it makes some women feel safe on the streets then what's the harm.. I do not hassle women on the street so I have nothing to fear.. But then that makes men fear that all women are carrying. Do you think that will make them accept that fact and not haraas women or do you think it will make them think they need to carry bigger and better and before we know it we're all in some kind of Mexican stand off? How do men know if they are carrying. You can not see mine. I don't strap it to my hip like the wild wild west saying look here be afraid. Out of interest, where do you carry it? And if grabbed from behind by a bigger person, would you have a chance to get hold of it? Front g2 concealed holster What happens if you're grabbed and over powered before you can unholster it? It'd be utterly useless seated in a wheelchair. It's impossible to access anything at belt level or pockets etc. All wrong angles etc. Deringers small close up I would suggest. I shoot with vets in wheelchairs alot. But I have 0 clue what your situation is. I'd be perfectly able to shoot on a range etc and have done. The issue would be how things unfold with someone coming from above (as all people are when you use a chair) and with the possibility of your chair being moved against your will (which happens reasonably often in different ways). I do not know your upper body strength. Deringers will go right thru the back of a wheelchair if you shoot underarm. I can't judge your situation it's not fair to you. That time and practice is entirely up to you. Dry firing and use. My upper body strength is tip top, thank you. As I say, the issue isn't the mechanics of discharging a firearm, I can do that. It's what happens in a genuine situation of threat and whether it's pointless or a possible threat to me (someone takes it off me). It's a choice for me.

"Give every girl a gun in Essex and see if male behaviour is modified" As you can see from the majority it would be impossible.
