I'm sitting here on the sofa watching The Royal Family. I'm a big fan of only fools, vicar of Dibley, men behaving badly, one foot in the grave Etc etc

Makes me think, will we ever see programs like this again. Recent attempts at comedy for me just dont seem to have the same feeling to them.

Nope

Because everyone is to scared of offending somone and having to deal with a twitter mob.

Atleast I can just keep rewatching Peep Show, until that's problematic somehow and taken off streaming services

They can't write new comedy shows as good as old ones. Now, if they say Car someone if offended. If they say Bread someone is offended. #Theoldonesarethebest

Titz Towers, North Notts

Yes, totally. You can go back to any generation and find people saying that the old shows are the best and nothing new is cutting the mustard.

The fact is we only remember the hit shows from the past and not the misses, whereas people are more familiar with contemporary misses.

Reading

Other than Fawlty Towers i have never laughed at any of these. The Americans do comedy better - Superstore, Community etc.

What Brits do superbly is the comedy news shows like Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and Nine out if Ten Cats.

It’s because you’re not allowed to laugh at anything funny anymore.

Watching and My Hero

I saw Ardal O'Hanlon live once. He was ok, but not anything better than anyone else on the circuit.
