I send winks and then if I get one back, send a message.

If I get a wink and I'm interested, I wink back. It's the ones that then don't message that confuse me. Some people prefer to send the message and get upset if you message them, it's like russian roulette

I understod the wink process to be send a wink, if you get a wink back then it's a sign they are ok with recieving a message so I understood it to be the first person to send a message if a wink back is recieved.

Winks give absolutely no idea of how a person will communicate.

It may be a sign that something in your profile has piqued their interest. It is the initial message that comes after the game of "wink you wink me" that speaks volumes & decides my next course of action or inaction!

What if we all become obsessed by winks, or wink too often, does that make us serial winkers?

It's much easier just to message with face pics then if you get no response then you know it's not going any further
