Why oh why oh why is it so hard to find and make connections with people local to you???

Been on fab awhile now and have made loads of friends on the forums your all great and some very sexy people that I shear an attraction to yet they are all miles away from me. There seem to be a fair few people in the Plymouth area on fab yet it seems impossible to make any connection with them at all. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has this problem on fab but just wanted a little rant this moring about it

"What made you think it would be easy?"
I never said it would be easy just amazed how difficult it is to make connections with local people when I've made some great friends on the forums

I have chatted to a couple of people in Exeter and that seemed to be a waste of time to be honest but when I say local I mean Plymouth and South East cornwall

Being where you are is a hindrance because you have a smaller pool of people around you. On one side of you there are people (and then Dartmoor) , and on the other side you only have the sea. On top of that, not being near a big city, you are already in a low-population area. Then there are the issues of being a single man we all know about.

Unfortunately you have a perfect storm of issues working against you.

You're right at the end of the country. People in the middle are surrounded by hot people and are literally fighting them off (not )

If you relocate to Glasgow Bluebell won't meet you. But you might get more interest in Plymouth.

I think the distance is the reason. Establishing a rapport with someone local brings an expectation that meeting up may happen, however likely or not. If there’s some distance then that pressure is removed and people feel more comfortable about it. Obviously there will be exceptions.

Similar to how it’s easier to tell your problems to a stranger I suppose

It’s okay having people at a distance if you have longer periods of time without commitments .but l agree so much simpler to arrange meets if you only have an evening free if they are local.

Any clubs near you ?

I agree with those who said it may be your location.

Me for example, being in Cambridge, not only am I surrounded by a city, but im an 80min train ride from London and a couple/3 hours from B'ham/Manchester/L'pool. I'm pretty lucky with where I am tbh.

You know you're always welcome though

Do you think some/most fabbers prefer distance meets to avoid bumping into the said person in town when back in the real world.

Cheshire

Agree with location as I live in Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester about an hour away. The coast for Blackpool is an hour and a half or even London is a possibility as a couple of hours from here.

So the solution is easy ...move to Cheshire

That’s the beauty of being in the middle, you can go either way, if you know what I mean

If you aren’t able to travel far then yes I can see that would be a bit of a pisser
