Yesterday I met someone, who told my one of my girlfriends oh he is Full of himself, pure arrogant.

Can being well spoken, well dressed, and having manners come across being Full himself ?

Yes. Frequently.

It’s usually those that think they’re in some way superior to the average fella (whether that be in terms of style, how articulate they think they are, how attractive they are etc) and then proceed to tell everyone that they are, that tend to be full of themselves.

Those that have those attributes, but don’t need to tell everyone that they do, tend to be the *real* gentlemen.

I wouldn’t know of course, being a simple country boy with a face like a slapped arse.

I like this answer

I think you nailed it with your response, I believe he has been speaking to way to many " bro " people and its how I've come across to him like I think I am gods gift.

Peoples perception will always be diffrent, to one it may be arrogance to another cocky, to somebody else confidence, these can be perceived differently on any given day, in any given situation..

Just be true to you stand in your truth, how that is received, I think is none of my business,

couple, us we him her.

I see myself as quietly confident, I'd prefer to sit at the back of the room with no attention.

I really don't like arrogant, obnoxious narcissists.

I think sometimes folk just like to throw big psychological buzz words around for effect. I was called a narcissist once for deleting a message from someone who didn't fit what i was looking for...an absolute stranger labelling me a narcissist. Dont take it on board OP as someone else said stand in your truth!

There are plenty of arrogant folk that aren't well spoken, well dressed and with poor manners

If he picked up on arrogance maybe it was something you said as opposed to how you said it?

Manners matter, but how someone dresses and speaks doesn't really account for how I view someone

That said, if he felt threatened by your presence, maybe making you out to be a bit of a prick made him feel better?

Nobody should need to be told . It's not difficult to have self confidence without being an arrogant arsehole.

My absolute least favourite trait in anyone , male or female .
